I'll try not to make this too much like a CV.
Didn't enjoy school that much, scraped through with 10 GCSE's ranging from a B to an F (Italian, which is a bit disappointing as I am, in case you hadn't guessed from the name, half Italian!!!).
Trained as a Civil Engineer at Anglian Water and Gained a HNC Civil Engineering Qualification.
Was loosing my way a bit and took a Visual Basic course, then thought a change of career was well over due.
Did about 7 weeks at Rebus HR, fell out with everyone over a comment I wrote in the canteen "Comment" book which evidently was only meant to include GOOD stuff, and not creative criticism. Got the last laugh, though, as it resulted in me getting 1 weeks worth of free food, Ha, Ha.
Any way, left there and started at Raymead doing, well stuff using programmes like SPSS, Faststats, etc. Incidentally, Ray is an intellectual beam of light and Mead is a rich pasture ground !! What-ever!.
They went bust the day before Christmas, took some time off and started at Ideal Shopping selling, (amongst other things), better sex videos for over 40's and various sized cock pumps.
From here, I managed to get a job as a Database Exec at Thomas Cook. Had around 5 jobs at TC in 6 years.
Fell into web development for a direct brand of Thomas Cook (Blue Sky Holidays), moved over to Thomas Cook Signatre to manage the website and marketing activity. At the same time, managed Thomas Cook Tours and Latitude (Posh holidays for rich people).
I then become a Senior Web Developer for Thomas Cook and became one of their first ATG Developers, developing in Java and .jsp.
I have now left development to manage an off-shore development team as a Delivery Lead / Manager.
Hope I haven't bored you too much.
